Besides Wing Chun, do you think Bruce Lee did not include other elements of Chinese Kung Fu into Jeet Kune Do?

If true, Bruce must have thought the other Chinese Styles were totally unpractical in realistic fighting situations.|||first off-

bruce did not have such a well travelled and varied background in chinese martial arts to make such a determination-

he simply wasn't alive long enough-

your understanding of what jeet kune do and bruce lee are lacking in what jeet kune do actually was-

it was NOT a martial art, it was a philisophical approach to how to train in martial arts-

want to know the entire "system" and theory of jeet kune do?

either you can spend years paying someone to allegedly train you in it or you can read the statement below and learn all its "secrets" in seconds!

JEET KUNE DO IS THE PHILOSOPHY OF USING WHATEVER TECHNIQUES- IRRESPECTIVE OF STYLE, THAT WORK FOR YOU.

no more, no less.

if you really feel the need to verify this, you can get bruce lee's tao of jeet kune do and read it for yourself to see, and pick up some other notes he put in on general fighting musings he had.

jeet kune do is not a style.

bruce lee's skill as a fighter is also unknown leaving him not in a position to make any such determinaiton-

what he COULD determine and i'm sure stated (which is true) that many cmas do not train in full contact against a fully resisting opponent.

that is an essential element of good training- irrespective of whether it is cma or any other art.

the simple and scary truth is that most arts and schools did not train in full contact with the head as a target back then- bruce lee openly advocated full contact training with the head as a target.

bruce might have been a great coach or decent martial artist for his size, but we really can't know since there is only one sparring video of his at a demonstration (above)- his movies are obviously just movies and thats not really fighting, and there are both pro and anti bruce lee camp people so thier statements are for the most part going to be self serving to either lauch up bruce and hang on his coattalis to boost themselves, or to crap on him to boost themselves.|||Bruce Lee did not fight using pure Wing Chun. In traditional WC there aren't any kicks above the waist. The trademark head high side kick is not a Wing Chun kick. When he was young his base style was WC then he moved on to incorporate other styles into his own. The style in his movies probably reflect more of the Jeet Kune Do style than it does any type of traditional Wing Chun. If you want to see a movie that show off more traditional Wing Chun is "Ip Man" with Donnie Yen. The entire movie out side of a couple of moves are traditional WC.

Jeet Kune Do isn't a set of kata's like WC or Karate... the basic philosophy is to use what works for you. "Cast off what is useless". When you have experience it's a good philosophy, But many people (like my self) like the tradition of the original art, we don't want to "bastardize" the art form into something else. While others who don't like following tradition it may make more sense. For new inexperienced martial artist, Jeet Kune Do is a horrible style because they have no idea what to discard or to take in what works for them. They end up copying the style of Jeet Kune Do that the more senior members of their school practice in. In Jeet Kune Do each person is an individual and find techniques that work for them.|||no. he incorporated boxing and fencing with wing chun. from there dan inosanto used kali. bruce just used other kung fu styles as his own style of jeet kune do.
