Does anyone care that the kid in the new "Karate Kid" movie is actually doing Chinese Kung Fu not Karate?

Or doesn't anyone know the difference?|||I know the difference. But in this movie Jaden Smith's character already knows Karate from living in the US, and when he moves to China he finds that the local boys think of karate as obsolete in the face of kung fu. So he gets the 'derogatory' nickname 'Karate Kid'...then later in the film he learns kung fu via Jack Chan and applies his new rectum kicking skills to those other punk kids!





So it's a bit of both|||I don't think the Karate Kid didn't need to be re-made. It was already been done great you can't make it better|||I agree The Karate Kid is a classic. some movies can be remade but not all. there was a feeling I had when I watched the originals. I can't describe it but it was like a warm fuzzy perseverance feeling. also no offense to Jackie chan but no one can replace the original Mr. Miagi may he rest in peace. Happy watching : )
